Appeal Decision at Oakfield Farm, Ascot
An Appeal against the Councils decision to refuse planning permission was allowed and planning permission granted following an Inquiry in September 2017 for the redevelopment of a waste transfer site to provide 12 residential houses.
The main issues were:
  • Whether the proposals would be inappropriate development in the Green Belt having regard to the National Planning Policy Framework
  • The effect of the proposal on the openness of the Green Belt
  • The effect of the proposal on the character and appearance of the area
  • Would the harm, by reason of inappropriateness, and any other harm, be clearly outweighed by other considerations. And, if so, would this amount to the very special circumstances required to justify the proposal.
